What are the Reasons for the High Temperature Rise of the Transformer in Operation?

1. Poor contact of tap switch

Due to the increase of contact resistance, resulting in hot contact hair, light will increase power loss, so that the oil temperature rise, heavy will burn tap switch.

By measuring the DC resistance of the high voltage winding, the contact condition of the tap switch can be judged. It can also be judged by light gas frequent action or oil sample test. If the tap switch is in bad contact, the hanging core should be repaired.

2.Winding turns or layer short circuit

Due to the winding short circuit part will produce a large circulation, resulting in the winding temperature rise, causing the transformer temperature rise is too high.

The short circuit between turns or layers can be judged by measuring the DC resistance of the winding. If a short circuit point is ignited to form an arc, the oil will decompose and produce gas, resulting in frequent action of light gas. The fault of short circuit between turns or layers can only be checked and handled by hanging core.

3.Insulation damage between core silicon steel sheet

Damage of insulation between silicon steel sheets or damage of insulating bushing of cored bolts will cause eddy current in the core, resulting in high temperature rise.

A prolonged increase in oil temperature will accelerate the aging of the oil, so it can be roughly judged by oil assay analysis. Core failure can only be checked and handled by hanging core.
