The Principle of Solving the Problem of Transformer Overload

The Principle of Solving the Problem of Transformer Overload

When the transformer is overloaded in operation, it may cause the indicator value of related instruments (such as ammeter, active and reactive power meter) to increase or the alarm system to work. Once an anomaly is found, the personnel on duty should deal with it in time. The principles for solving the problem are as follows:

1. Make records and report them to relevant management personnel or dispatching personnel.

2. Timely adjust the operation mode of the transformer according to the actual situation on site; If a spare transformer is available, it can be put into operation immediately.

3. If it is normal overload, the allowable time should be determined according to the multiple of normal overload; If the time exceeds, the load should be reduced immediately; And to strengthen the transformer temperature monitoring, in case it exceeds the allowable temperature value.

4. Negotiate with the power consumption unit to readjust and distribute the load of the transformer.
